PNRMU, projects participate in National
GO GREEN Trade Fair
The
Participatory Natural Resources
Management Unit (PNRMU) and projects
participated in the national GO GREEN
Trade Fair organized by Initiative
Africa.
A member of Gopa Forest Management
Group in Southern Nations Nationalities
and Peoples Region, Geber Eyesus Keto,
said “I used to be concerned about the
quantity of honey that I produce. From
this Fair I learnt that quality really
matters to increase income from honey. I
have planned to increase my income by
increasing the quality of my honey.”
Dr. Kebour Ghena, Executive Director of
Initiative Africa, said “Go Green Fair
helps to increase awareness of green
issues and engage with members of the
population who are not predisposed to
reading or learning about climate change
and ecology”.
The Guest of Honor the Ambassador of
Sweden to Ethiopia, Jens Odlander, said
“this event helps us to create awareness
between people and groups. Being green
helps our economy to be competitive”.
Husien Indries, Team Leader of the SSLFM
Regional Advisory Support Unit in
Benishangul Gumz, said that “the GO
GREEN Trade Fair is a good learning
ground. We came across a wider range of
green technologies. We have also
established relationship with potential
buyers.”
The Fair was created to display some
best green, ethical and ecological
technologies, products and services to
fight global warming.
FARM-Africa/SOS Sahel Ethiopia PNRMU
regional offices have all participated
in the four days exhibition opened on
June 23, 2011.
Initiative Africa, an education based
non-governmental organization based in
Addis Ababa, works to enhancement
Africa’s intellectual, cultural and
environmental heritage.
